Library of Congress Takes Leadership - ArcNews Summer 2010 Issue

I was very pleased to see that the summer 2010 edition of ArcNews is running a story on the Library of Congress' role in sponsoring the archiving of geospatial data.

I especially like the fact that it discusses the partnerships between governments and universities in getting this most important task taken care of.

Let's hope the ball gets rolling in Canada soon. Of course it would be good to have a Digital Information Strategy established to oversee the concept. The US started their National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program in 2000.
